I will be taking an extended "leave of absence" from the group as early as January, lasting for an indefinite amount of time.

If you don't mind, can you tell us what this is all about? You haven't really been around Obner as of late and now you're quitting your band, very curious. It just feels like something major is going down, did you find your dream women?

KPH:
Current plans are:

- go to India for several months in early 2006, where my dream woman is working for OxFam.
- we'll return to the States mid-year and I'll possibly begin grad school in the fall of '06.

or

- we'll return to the States, but then turn around again and head back abroad and I'll defer enrollment.

The Bon Savs is a band that I started with my best friend and is part of something that he and I have worked on since the mid-90s. I changed my "life plans" after college specifically to pursue this. As such, if the record does happen to take off during my time abroad, I will retain the right and privilege to resume my "full time" role in the group. That's basically the skinny on things.

When did this take place, because I think the plans may have changed.

No, plan's still pretty much the same, although the locations *might* be different. If we happen to stick around Boston after April '06, I'll continue with the band in some form, but once grad school begins, that's all I'll be focused on.

As to leaving for India, plans changed in one respect - she's coming home for the holidays, so it didn't make much financial sense for me to leave here this month, then turn right around. Plane tix cost money ya know...so, I'm shooting for going there in late Feb/early March.

We just started mixing the album this past weekend with an associate of Dave Fridmann - a guy named Bill Racine. So the band is very much "for real" and all that. I can't imagine being in Boston and *not* being part of the Bon Savs, but if I'm at, say, Boston College Law, well...I won't be spending my spare moments in a rock band, however successful it may be.

How long are you planning to be in India? Isn't she done in May?

Also, not to go off topic, wait I guess the topic is just KPH, so this is still on topic...

Anyway, are you still thinking about a joint law/business degree, or just law? Did you take the LSAT yet?

Lastly, I found some mp3s hidden on the Bon Savs' website, some are old demos (whee) but some are probably more recent, including drum tracks and instrumental versions. Not sure if I was supposed to, but if you don't want leaks, you may want to hide them better. Or maybe your recordings leaking early is a real sign of being "'for real' and all that".

India - only 4 weeks max.

Law/Bus - yep, still focusing here, though the more I talk with people about it, the less impressed I am with either. Have not taken the LSAT yet.

MP3s - Yeah, that's really not anything we're worried about. I'd be fine with more people discovering us, period. Besides, those basic drum tracks are kinda boring...:) But they sound sweet when mixed together with everything else - and the finished content is not available on our site, nor will it be for some time. Thanks for the concern though!
