A Top 10 Movies of 2004?

Would this be something I should put together or am I wasting my time? I'd ask for Top 10 from you as opposed to Top 20.

I just have a hard time remembering what movies I went to see this year.

Going past a top 5 could be tough.

I would also provide a list of all the movies that were released in 2004.

It is really, really, funny that you refer to it as "like the shmoo poll" because in my original shmoo-poll post at the end of 2002, I wrote:

"I'm going to conduct an OPA-style poll (no, there will be no dirty pictures).
This is the Official CMJ Web-Board Top 20 Albums of 2002 Thread!"

Anyway, I'd participate but I'm not a big movie-viewer, so I may decide I have nothing to offer. In any case, I ask that you wait until after the albums poll to do this, if you please. Then once that's over, we can start the new top 1000 thread. It'll be all-list, all-the-time!

Fair enough. I'll wait til the Oscars in Feb / March to do this. Give people a chance to watch as many movies as they can.

It's looking like a great year for Obner...with the Shmoo Poll, OPA Film Poll, The Swiateck Battle of the Back Catalogs, and the potential for a new Top 1000 songs of all time. Should keep us busy.

Sounds like fun, and yes, lets wait until most of the 2004 movies are out on DVD. I don't see many movies in the theater, and few good art-house movies come up here, anyway.

This guy has a pretty good 2004 list, but it only includes movies he has actually reviewed.

I'm still trying to catch up with this year's films. Haven't seen that much.

But trying.

And it seems like most of the good ones for the year are just coming out.

So I'd definitely do it, I just think it's wise to wait a little while longer til we start it.

I know I made the suggestion of 10 worst movies of 2004, but I'll be honest...I've only seen one movie this year. It was absolutely terrible though and I wanted to vote for it 10x.
