fightin' lib,

will NU be bowl eligible with a 6-5 record? after CU's loss to Iowa State, I wouldn't expect a 'W' in Boulder. I'm still pretty gutted after the KSU loss last weekend, but the shellacking KU put on the 'Huskers certainly softens the blow.

Does CBSSportsline really think LSU is gonna lose to Ole Miss or Arkansas and not go to the SEC championship?

Nebraska is bowl eligible because they have not used their I-AA exemption in the last three years. If they would happen to miraculously beat Colorado at Boulder, which is a possibility since the road team has won the last two meetings, they could jump up as high as the Alamo according to some of the football gurus.
I'm guessing they will end up in Orlando at the Champs Sport, because the Huskers despite sucking it up for two years would prefer a California or Florida bowl to a Shreveport or Fort Worth Bowl.
BTW, somebody on here earlier this season thought K-State would beat Nebraska again this year.

Your team just barely eeked that one out, HammerTime. I wouldn't gloat too much. Again, Kansas Jayhawks 40-15 over your blackshirts. Somewhere, Tom Osborne crying into his beeg pillah.

No way does the Fiesta take Oregon as an at large. They don't travel plus I think they have like the first and third choices so they would probably take Notre Dame and Miami.

I'm not gloating, I'm just glad we aren't last in the Big 12 North. Kansas is deserving of finally beating the Big Red. They came pretty close a few times when they were a god awful team and the Huskers were contending for titles.
I've always liked Lawrence, it is a cool college town. Manhattan on the other hand is like driving to Kearney, NE for a UNK game.

Every nonBCS school wants to take on Nebraska... I'd love to see a Boise, Fresno, Tulsa, UTEP, or TCU demolish them....

All of these predictions scare me for different reasons. Miami is tough, and losing to Michigan State is still a possibility that I really don't want to face.

I'd say Nebraska has a better shot at beating Tulsa badly than the other way around. OU only beat the Huskers by a touchdown, and beat the Golden Hurricanes by 16. OU is a far better team now than they were at the start of the year.
Fresno would indeed beat Nebraska bad, but they are beyond wanting to play a downtrodden Husker team, especially if they compete well with USC this week.
Boise State should be able to beat Nebraska with ease, but struggled with its major conference foes in the non-conference.
UTEP looks good on paper, but they haven't really played anyone either.
At this point, I would much rather face Tulsa or any of these foes rather than play Clemson in a bowl, despite the fact they lost to Wake Forest and Nebraska beat the Deacons 31-3.

The town is like a drive through Nebraska? Does this mean you've seen one up close? I'm kidding. In other news, Bill Snyder's retiring after the Mizzou game - one team he's never lost to. Go Pussycats.

Dude, I can't even think about that yet. I don't put it past Kentucky to run up 800 yards rushing on our swiss cheese D.

<------still spitting bile from Saturday.

If it does happen, ya'll would be a 10-14 point fave I think.

Don't think for a second though that I wouldn't want a little payback for 2 years ago.

It's been reported today that the committee for the Capital One bowl would really like to have Wisconsin in this year. Wisconsin's never been. Wisconsin fans travel well, and since it's coach Alvarez's last season they'd like us to come. Wisconsin's scheduled game vs. Hawaii on Nov. 26 now means something. UW will have to win. Penn St. will have to win this weekend too -- the committee chairman said that a Michigan victory over OSU probably won't discount UW playing in Orlando on Jan. 2. Here's hoping!!!

You can trash on the state of Nebraska all you like, I personally like to avoid as much of the Western 2/3 of the state or Congressional District 3 as much as possible. I was just commenting that visiting Manhattan is like visiting Kearney, not a whole lot to do in either place and both have a small town culture rather than a college town or urban culture.
I was surprised to see Bill Snyder retire. I had heard rumors that he was going to stay one year and that they were going to let go of quite a few assistants and bring back Brent Venables of Oklahoma to be the heir. Without him there, I won't have any reason to really view K-State as a team to hate. Now we only have to hate Gary Barnett of Colorado.

BTW, according to the KSU Athletic site Snyder has lost to Mizzou in 1989,1990 and 1992.

I wasn't trashing NE, I was having a go at you and your silly predictions. Also, I'm not going to waste time debating what constitutes a college town or 'urban culture', but you've obviously spent little time outside of your Lincoln dormroom - I'll assume watching a pirated dvd version of Tommy Lee Goes To College.

I heard similar rumors about Snyder. Re: KSU-MU, my pops told me last weekend he had never lost to the Tigers, so I took his word as gospel. Alcoholics work in mysterious ways. Stop hating Big 12 schools and start hating Pac-10 schools. It's the new grey this season.
