I've made so many for my friends. Three or four for probably each of my friends and half a dozen for one of my best friends. And they're too chintzy or lazy to make a single one for me. People are jerks.

my friends do not make me mixes because they think that i won't like them. the only time that people seem to make me mixes is if they know that i am not familiar with a genre that i want to hear more of, or if i'm dating them.

actual mixtapes were made for me in high school. a lot of my dj friends always made mixtapes... but a lot of them got warped. in general though, most of my friends don't make me that many mixes. bastards. i get most of them from you guys here on obner.

My cousin from Boston sent me like 15 CDs that she burned for my birthday this year, but they were entire CDs and not mixes. So no, I've never had a mixtape made for me.

That's one cheap-assed gift. I'd be pissed.

i refuse to make mixes for some of my friends because they have shitty taste in music and i get ridiculed if i try to introduce them to something new.

She's never given me a gift before, so it was actually a pretty neat surprise.

i haven't had very many mixes made for me that i've liked (other than by onebrownjeff). i appreciate the effort always, but it seems like i get far too many that have like 5 songs by the same band and don't introduce me to anything i haven't heard before...

Way lazy right here.

I mean, iTunes and whatnot has made this ridiculously easy, and yet I still take forever with these things. Probably 'cause I want to seem coolest with my choices or something.

Some friends came over yesterday, one of them brought me a spindle of 50 blanks in appreciation for dupes/mixes I've made for him. I told the others, "pick out some CDs out of my collection, and I'll make copies for you." One guy picked 1 disc, and the others didn't even look.

I don't feel bad about stealing, i.e., making copies for these guys, because one guy never buys CDs anyway (just listens to the radio), and the other two buy discs on their own as well, sometimes on the strength of what I've recorded for them on my comps. So there, music industry!

And no, none of them has made comps for me, but I don't even think they've ever made a comp.

i love your avatar

and to be on topic, blue milk makes me mixes. or he used to. those mean the most to me, other than that.. this one kid in middle school made me "punk rawk mixezzz" which had shit like yellowcard on them.
that same kid wrote a song for me, and he also hated me a few weeks after because i never wanted to hang out with him.

what a little bitch

hmm i haven't heard that one, but then again it'd be terribly difficult to hear all of sun ra's material. would you be able to send me a link to it? i'd return the favor with something you may want that i have. i don't know what that'd be. i don't have terribly obscure stuff, but i'd love to hear it if you wouldn't mind helping me out.

i have an incredible bootleg rare recordings compilation a friend made me, plus the black rider demos and some tv performances. that's it so far, i'm working on my bootleg collection. i have his entire discography besides Big Time, which i plan on buying sooner or later. oh and besides those "best of" types. anyways, let me know what you want.
