i finally watched this after it sat around in a netflix envelope for about a month (about average for my netflix, as it turns out. i've had andre rublev sitting around for a record 4 months).

anyway...

it's really good and i don't even like music docs. just wanted to alert anyone who likes the lips and hasn't seen it...

i bought it for my best friend for her birthday last spring. she hasn't watched it yet either.

I don't know if it's the best music/band documentary out there, but it's awfully compelling.

I agree, I really enjoyed it. Not in the least bit boring, pretentious, etc., like some of these things can get.

I thought the stuff about Steve Drozd was pretty cool.

It makes Wayne seem like a genuinely awesome guy.

It's a good doc, but pretty tedious to watch more than once. I'm still not really sure if it was worth buying.

I thought the Ramones doc, for example, was a lot better. I'm not even a big Wilco fan, but I thought that was a great doc as well.
