which is stupid but oh well. maybe it's smart.

i've been compiling and thinking about it all year, and i just don't enjoy things anymore. i have it narrowed down to 100, and was just going to do a top 100 website thing. but it's just ridiculous and i don't want to put time into tinkering with my list and crap when no one really cares, and those who do...it's just like "cool" (which isn't me saying I DESERVE RESPECT, because i don't.) it was just foolish for me to start in the first place.

i've put way too much time into this, and i'm tired of 2005.

2005 doesn't deserve a top 50 list.

Yeah contra, your list last year was impressive in scope, and it looked like it took a LOT of work. I just do my shmoo poll, enter my top 25 on amazon with one line for each, and leave it at that.

i keep going back and forth. I think alot of good music came out this year. I've started my list (started with about 100) started parring them down to 25 and realized that compared to music in the past, this years output in the context of history is pretty weak.

Whatever, dude, I'd read your site. I like your taste, and might discover something new by it, whereas by simply looking at your list I might not.

A lot of other good stuff on your list, too, but I'm particularly glad to see more support for these two.

I never heard of 90% of Whiney's list.

Do the website Contradiction. Although doing the list, would be a contradiction of what you said you aren't going to do, so maybe it is a good idea to live up to your screen name and contradict yourself.

This and his girlfriend's project Esmerine will make my top 10 likely.

There's a bunch on yours and Whiney's list that I'd like to hear. Can I make YSI/AIM requests/trade propositions?

Is there a proper release for this...all I've got is a somewhat crappy webrip.

I was really impressed with the website last year and it did help me reevaluate some of my takes on certain things.

Alas, it'll be hard for me to come up with a Top 10 for '05, let alone a Top 50. I understand that there's an art and desire to the ranking/eval thing (even if you don't necessarily really like the records), but that's just not something I feel compelled to do anymore.

I don't think I can be bothered to rank more than 20.... Though Deerhoof and the Sunn0))) will probably be on mine...

I'll be done with '05 if they finally release A Son Unique... I mean, what's the holdup with that think, anyways?

Top 4 (probably): Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree, Silver Jews - Tanglewood Numbers, Ryan Adams - Cold Roses, Circle - Tuliktoria...

any farther than that pre-Turkey day'd just be guessing...
