I saw someone mention A Ghost Is Born as their pick for best album of the current, half-over decade. I happen to disagree.

My pick?

Nick Cave - Abbatoir Blues/Lyre Of Orpheus

What's yours?

Just a curiosity question...

My other choices considered, but unranked would be:

My Morning Jacket - It Still Moves
Radiohead - Kid A
Ryan Adams - Gold
The Streets - Original Pirate Material
The Arcade Fire - Funeral

I wouldn't disagree. That's a gorgeous album. It makes me wistful for what Molina used to play.

Damn, I don't know. Maybe one of them Animal Collective albums.

I was listening to it this weekend, and I think you're right. Every song is fucking awesome.

It's close with the Strokes - Room on Fire, White Stripes - WBC, Constantines - Shine a Light, and Ike Reilly - Salesman and Racist for me. Drive By Truckers - Dirty South is up there too.

Crooked Rain Crooked Rain reissue.

Just kidding, but I don't have a real answer, and this is probably my favorite album I discovered this decade.
