awww andy, i really enjoyed reading your top 50 last year. it was honest, diverse, and non-pretentious. wish i had the patience to do so myself... i started thinking about my top 20 and it just gave me a headache.

i'm going to split mine by top 20 rock then top 20 electronica. to combine EVERYTHING would just give me an ulcer.

Child, you cannot give in to the mushy entropy of brain drain... keep the fire going, get those critical chops honed and ready... it gives meaning and structure to the nihilism that wants to consume you. Rank those tunes!

In a few months I'll begin my 42nd annual "top ten" (kept to 40)list.

listen guys, i had like 600 releases that were applicable for my list. thats too many for me. some people it might be great for, but i just don't value music anymore.

the top 20 will suffice.

This is exactly what I meant when I talked about the trap of free downloads. The seemingly inquentiable thirst for new discoveries takes the place of just enjoying listening to music.

I say run from your site and lists and let everyone else decide what they like from this year on their own.

In Andy's case I agree. Especially with comments like "I just don't value music anymore". That's just sad, especially since he's so young.
