I know it's the flavor of the month/year, but I learned how to play when I was 13, and it's kind of nuts how huge it is now. I'm a credit card away from being an online poker millionaire, I sware though. In real life poker, i'm 1/2 and probably far too drunk to bother doing it regularly (won 100 dollars sober, lost 30 drunk).

Anyways, I bet half of you do (though I only know that Spade does). So lets talk, or something.

I got 4 aces in a hold 'em tourney at Luxor in January! I play regularly, but it's for fun... I only go cuthroat at the casino's.

I brought this up a few months ago. I play online regularly (not for real money), and we have a neighborhood game at my house every weekend or two ($10 buy-in hold 'em). I played poker a lot as a kid, but never hold 'em until this craze started. I love it.

Also, televised poker is probably one of the most entertaining things I've ever seen.

I lost 30 dollars at a non buy in regular table, I absolutely hate those. I was pretty shitfaced so I only remember one bad beat, which was losing to 6s with pocket Aces, other than that I think I folded every hand.

Yeah, I only play tournaments. If we have more than nine, we'll pay two places, but it's usually winner takes all.

I downloaded that Golden Palace poker thing and I went into a room to play and then I realized I know nothing about poker so I went and played Blackjack instead.

Not a bad beat if it gets to the flop. Man, I haven't played in a few months... I have a tourney in a few weeks, so I need to rest up.

Well, it went to the flop after I made a medium raise, and then he went all in and I obviously called, he got a 6 on 4th.

They have tourneys in some bar down here every night of the week. I've played in them a couple times but I'm not really that good....I did win some money last year when I somehow started going over to this dude D's house every Friday and usually playing until 8 in the morning.....You can start winning money around four when the booze, pills and other shit starts affecting some people's judgement badly or lose just as fast when/if it happens to you.

I try not to drink if I'm gonna play for money...I've never really been in a serious money game though, just small time stakes. Never palyed online.

also, I love watching this shit on espn though, the mannerisms of some of these guys is great...and I can see how some of these guys who table talk could drive you nuts. Phil Ivey is the man.

I play all the time. My online poker account has about 500 in it at all times, although Ive been down a little. Im usually about even. Been playing 2/4 limit hold em for about 6 months consistently with some tourneys thrown in.

edit: and I just flopped the nut straight and lost to the flush on the river

some of the terms in poker make it sound like a gay men's bathhouse.

I play monthly with my neighbors in suburbia. The women have their monthly bunco night and the men have their texas holdem night.

I went to the WSOP site to check something else a few weeks back and WHAM the winner on the front page. I was cheering for Matusow because he's a douche, but hilarious.

I would, except I have a gambling problem: I NEVER WIN!

Does 'losing all the time' count as 'playing'?

Yeah, I play. I used to be an MTT player exclusively but I found there's a much better and more consistent ROI in the STTs. All said, I think I was up 6 grand in the MTTs this year. All I play right now are $35 buy in 6 table max STTs, and my ROI is about 37% through the first 115 tournaments. I am starting to be able to 3 and 4-table simultaneously with a lot more efficacy, but it's tougher with the short table game.

Anyone who's serious about the game should check out the twoplustwo.com forums.

Look me up on pokerstars, my name is bestcellar and the spade kitty logo is my avatar

I'm...You Guessed It...Shoegaze666

it works because my favorite hand is trip 6s. 99% of the time I pick up pocket 6s I get the trip and it works out for me. I also love it when Daniel Baldwin was on the World Poker Tour's Hollywood Home Game and he picked that up and in his wayyyy too coked up state started screaming "don't mess with the devil baby, don't mess with the motherfuckin' devil" I've loved poker ever since.

Single tables are nice because they're quick, and you can generally do well by playing overly tight.
