After all those crappy choices before, I had to do SOMETHING.
You're welcome.

Newcastle's pretty weak, imo.

My two favorite beers. But if I had to live with only one, it would be Guinness.

Dude, make it a real choice, like Guinness and Smithwicks.

I like Newcastle.
I used that as the other option, because it is a very different beer from Guinness – A brown ale, as opposed to a stout. And it was also the retort my wife had when I was trying to convince her to have a Guinness. It was how we met. (I was drunk).

Me: HAVE A GUINNESS!!! It's the BEST!
Her: I'm drinking Newcastle.
Me: Oh. That's good too.

We started talking and I wind up getting her phone number.
Now, 12 years and 2 kids later, here we are.

I wasn't even trying to pick her up at that point.
I was just drunk and convinced (in my drunkenes) that EVERYONE should be drinking Guinness.

But yeah, it was the worst pickup line ever.
And the best.

I'm tired of Guiness, that's the only reason I went with Newcastle (New Castle?).

It always tastes like it's been watered down with tap water -- the flavour of tap water always stands out. I've tasted good Guiness before, and I can't put my finger on exactly what the difference is.

It should be pumped with nitrogen, not CO2. There is also a proper way to pour a Guinness that effects the density of the head and, therefore the flavor of the beer. Ain't nothing like a well-poured Guinness.

Harp would have been a better contrast to Guinness.

Alas, the likelihood of every barkeep knowing this results in that solid pour being the exception to the rule, at least around here.

Still though, Guinness >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> most beers.

I'm more sentimental with Newcastle, so I picked it. But Guinness is definitely better. Two of my favorite beers.

Ah! Thank you for explaining that to me. So when I go to a bar, I should ask them what they pump their Guiness with?

Not a fan of either one quite honestly. But forced to choose, I'd have to go Newcastle

GUINESS IS THE BEST!

Newcastle has the handicap of a clear bottle. Clear bottles allow beer to skunk easier, 'cause the sunlight can get in. Saw that on the news once. Probably a bigger concern when you're talking about an import.

Doesn't keep me from digging on a Corona tho.
