Cover songs...

Of course there are exceptions to the rule, but most seem to turn out American Pie / Madonna-like for me. Today heard Dar Williams with Ani Difranco / Comfortably Numb - awful.

Seriously, I think 5% are listenable

Obviously this disincludes live acts playing variety of covers, etc. I am talking about radio here.

i like quite a few covers, mainly ones that are done live - the above sounds horrible though...ugh.

Those are obviously the polar extreme, but in general I am averse to them
