I know NONE of those records, or even any of the artists.
Tell me something about them.
I'm curious.
(I know you love to do the YSIs, but I cannot access those things, unfortunately.)

aidan smith - singer songwriter, with a flair for the whimsical side of things. his ep was ace, but this new album is even better. similar to badly drawn boy in some ways.

piana - gorgeous, drifting ambient & electronics, with Naoko Sasaki on vocals. she's got such an innocent and delightful voice. brings a smile to my face.

roy ayers - you've never heard this man? get on it. slick as fuck 70's jazz/funk on this soundtrack. his back catalog is essential listening IMO.

marc hellner - this album shot straight up into my Top 5 of the year. very orchestral downtempo, with minimal percussion, and warm bass. he's got a lovely voice as well. think ulrich schnauss meets telefon tel aviv.

miwon - another one in my Top 10 of the year. throbbing, minimal german techno / synth pop. great sense of melody.

I was just checking my secondspin.com personal favorites and they have a copy of it used in stock for $4.99 if you're interested. They also have 9 copies of a decent Tom Ze album for $4.99 each

np: Japan "Adolescent Sex"

I am loving this disc. Reminds me of golden-era Tangerine Dream.
