According to a little looking around I did at slightly more medical sources, it can happen, but it sounds like it has more to do with a pre-existing condition than with bedroom manner.

There were also some stories about peoples' intestines being pulled out by toilets in cruise ships and airplanes. Generally, the people are overweight (thereby more likely to create a seal), and the suction of the flush inverts their innards, as it were.

I think this was covered in News of the Weird -- either that or The Straight Dope.

Years ago, I saw a news special on people who were the victims of improperly covered swimming pool drains. Most of them were children. They got stuck on the drain, due to the suction, nearly drowned and were recued by their parents in time for it to be discovered that all or most of their intestines had been sucked out.

I still remember the gruesome photo of shredded colon lining a drain and the overdubbed voice stating, "once outside the body, there is no way to repair an intestinal tract..."
