i'm not dissing anyone.
texas is just not a place consider conducive to my lifestyle.

but then, neither is california but for different reasons.

I know baby. But Phil got jacked by racist thugs in Chicago, not Austin. Not Texas. Not the South.

Motherfuckers live everywhere, even such allegedly "liberal thinking" places as Austin and The People's Republic of Massachutes.

But you know this, so I aint arguing, just merely emphasizing the same thing... :D

Is it too late to say "Man, I love Austin!"???? And not just Austin, but the whole area, the Hill Country, etc. Heck, my current avatar photo's from Austin...

I'd move back to south-central Texas any time, but esp. during the winter months. :)

Caveats: Austin has a really long 'too hot' season. And while it's a liberal oasis, it's still in Texas. Among other things, you might not take to the whole 'Texas is the center of the universe' mentality. It's gotten to be a pretty big city really fast--there are problems that go along with that. Ever heard of cedar fever? Cali has a good pension system for teachers BTW.

Of course, people seem to get stuck in Austin...a friend of mine calls it "the Velvet Slump."

Anyone else ever have a summer job in New Braunfels? Boy, can't beat Schlitterbahn crowds from Houston.

Do the interview to check the vibe. This only becomes a real issue if you get an offer. You're assuming that, which is good.

Whatever you decide, I will say that I'll be in Cleveland from noon on the 30th to some time on the 31st. Your ass (and the rest of you) better be there.

your right, yail. sorry for jumping in to all this. there are assholes everywhere. i grew up in one of the most racist and segregated neighborhoods in chicago and couldn't wait to get out.

will you still be my caabana boy?
although you are getting kinda old.

Doesn't seem so bad to a guy stuck in northern Maine.

Change of scenery works well, even if its not the change of scenery you're hoping for, as far as getting your priorities straight.

Go to Austin. If you hate it, you can always move to LA, or back to Chicago, or Goa, or wherever the fuck. But it will proabably do you some good, as you seem kinda miserable now.

The Senator makes a great point. Besides, Austin could be just a stepping stone to an even better place. Even though I miss the OH, I think I am better off having moved to lovely Fort Collins before ending up in Denver.

Is Graham just dormant, Phil? Is that project still planning a possible weekend in Michigan? Is open mic still going on? I never hear from that guy anymore.

rehearsing 2-3 times a week, show on the 30th at Tonic Room, maybe 12/1 at Schuba's, 12/8 somewhere, 12/13? at Martyr's, and 3 brand new songs that kick ass.
