I thought tonight's episode was the best one so far this season.

I see why she's so suspicious, that was nicely done. But she's still a bossy cunt. I could stand that mouth for about 2 sec before I got blood on my hand.

She would whup your ass. Just ask Nathan and Goodwin and Sawyer. Oh, and that one Other, too.

She could try. I'm sure it would be grand foreplay.

And yeah, I do get that her character's got PTSD. While I understand the behaviour, I wouldn't tolerate it. And I'm surprised there's not one dissenter. Leader she may be, she's incapable of hearing anyone's opinion but her own. Like when she grabbed the radio away from Bernard. No one says a damn thing, not a "what the hell makes your opinion more valid than his?"

Jesus I'm talking like these are real people. I can't wait to see the two tribes integrated next week.

They threatened to and then killed one of the expendable "red shirt" cast members, which lead to them setting up all-night guard watches for the group on the beach.

Tonight's episode was the best since the season premiere. Ana Lucia is a little less annoying once her character is given some motivation just like with Shannon.

The preview for next week revealed a little too much, though. It looks like we've already seen half of what's going to happen.

That's weird--we didn't get a preview of next week here in the NYC area. Or am I out of my mind?

My VCR stopped recording a bit early. Last part of the episode I saw was everyone walking towards the other side of the island to meet the other camp. Can someone fill me in on what happened after that?

I'm not buying the preview for next week... Shannon's death has been built up as "who killed JR" type deal and I have a hard time buying the obvious explanation despite the preview showing an angry Sayid seemingly looking at Ana and in another preview cut Ana saying "I killed who he loved" or something similiar... There's more going on.. afterall ghosty Walt lead poor Shannon to her demise.

As for Goodwin (good-one) and Nathan (Ethan-ish)... I don't think either were on the plane. Dharma and former subject I bet.

As for Mr. Echo, can't help but think John Locke "man of faith" and Mr. Echo who obviously is a true man of faith will lock(e) horns soon. Not to mention cop Ana and fugitive Kate. And Sayid going ballistic.

Ana is a great character. Can't believe so many people are hating on her.

I wish they would have tackled all 50 days in 2 episodes... it all felt too rushed. I'd like to think that Ana, Echo and the shrink aren't the only characters of any depth from the tail. Bernard adds nothing... reminds me of that guy they introduced and killed off in 2 epiosdes last year.

I tend to agree with this though I did think they did a good job getting us caught up with the tail-end survivors considering what they were able to do with one episode. Still, two would have been better.

Also agree about next week's previews. Ok, I knew Shannon was dead because everyone's talked about it but they could have really built some suspense around her being shot. Instead of telling us she's dead, let us wonder and find out next week. Just my thought.

Steve. Or the other guy Sawyer used to get mixed up with Steve.
Every bone in his body was broken, according to Kate.

Here's another tidbit toward the "Ana Lucia didn't shoot Shannon" theory--in the preview, didn't we see Ana firing the gun again? And wasn't there supposedly only one bullet in the gun?

Yeah, turns out I am out of my mind; of course there was a preview, and I have early onset Alzheimers. It suddenly came back to me this morning while discussing the episode at work.

Oh, and my parents watching E.R. in the other room reminds me--what idiotic publicity department decided that they should hype to death the fact that they're going to kill off a character in the next week's episode?

[MrAnnouncerVoice]...and one of them won't be coming back.[/MrAnnouncerVoice]

Shit's pissin' me off.

Damnit, I can't remember anything. I'm gonna have to watch the first season again.

Hurley's number's + Yankees retired numbers:

4-Lou Gehrig
8-Bill Dickey
15-Thurmon Munson
16-Whitey Ford
23-Don Mattingly
42-Jackie Robinson

= 108

Someone's favorite players maybe or perhaps a more complicated significance?

Ana said 3 folks were taken the first night and 9 the next night from the tail-ender group.

3 = Babe Ruth
9 = Roger Marris

But then again, they tried to take Mr. Echo and he killed 2 of them that first night so the 'others' were probably going for 4 the first and 8 the next.

Does anyone else listen to the Lost "The Transmission" podcast? They mentioned something about satellites, 108 minute flyovers, etc. And plenty of other things...

Just occurred to me the Yanks must have retired #8 twice because that was also Babe Ruth's number.

Or maybe I'm remembering wrong. I'll look it up when I get a moment.
