grrrr.... you know I would if I could. Actually, I'm going to try to hop on an earlier flight home, so I'll be jetting from here around 2:30ish.

they put on a fun show and alex is a likeable frontman, but with the exception of their last song, all the songs sounded to similar. i'm getting very anal about this issue.

so review of friday night's show at spaceland... i thought maybe tania would've posted a review somewhere but i didn't see anything.

the 2 opening bands were army navy and the tyde. it's hard when your friend is in a band, but they're not that great. the lead singer of army navy used to be in pinwheel with ben gibbard, hence the nasaly, high-pitched voice which is annoying. other than that, i feel like they have the potential to be a decent la band but man, the singer has just got to go. the tyde wasn't that great either... i found them to be very boring.

however, the arctic monkeys finally came on and boy, did they bring the energy. i was surprised at how young they all were- 19/20 yrs. old, but they were all simply adorable on stage. the crowd however, your average, typical la snooty hipsters- they weren't the greatest to the band because of their age. i don't get that shit. it's annoying. their songs do sound similar, but don't most songs by british bands sound the same? anyway, if you like these type of bands, you should go see them live if you ever get the chance.

it's not just british bands, there are alot of American bands with this problem.
