Anyone heard this:

or heard anything about it yet?

It came out in September.

In case you don't recognize the name, Eugene Kelly was the lead singer/songwriter of the Vaselines, Eugenius, and Captain America. If you don't know anything else, you probably know Nirvana's cover of the Vaseline's Jesus Don't Want Me For A Sunbeam on their MTV acoustic album.

no fans or just no one's heard it yet? He's a Scot so I'd think at least KonstantinL & Aural would give a %*$@.

Haven't heard it...RIYL? His bands don't count.

That's the whole point...I haven't heard it myself, but I'm certainly intrigued based on his prior work. It would seem based on short sound clips that his solo work is more pop oriented than his prior work so RIYL: Teenage Fanclub, Cosmic Rough Riders, Daniel Wylie, Orange Juice...which is only based on 30 sec sound clips of 3 songs.

Really I'm looking for someone else to answer that question.

Eugene Kelly: A name not heard from in some time. Kelly will be known as the leader of Eugenius and The Vaselines, as well BMX Bandits. "Man Alive" is a masterclass in melodic guitar/pop rock - with the odd hint at a folk/roots sensibility. Twelve tales of love, lust, heartache, firewalking and celebrity stalking."Youre Having My Sex" sounds like a hit record, laced with Kellys trademark dry humour - that life is passing me by feeling has never been so wittily captured - "Youre having my sex - youre sleeping with my wife". "She Wears My Ring" is a ballad about love beyond the grave..."Dear John" bemoans the closure of Glasgows coolest record shop to make way for a Starbucks. Eugene Kelly is back and hes in top form. "5 stars..Crammed full of warm intelligents songs. Veering somewhere between Teenage Fanclub and Velvet Underground meets The Byrds, we`re witnessing the re-emergence of one of Britain`s great songwriters."-Record Collector. This new album, conceived during his stint touring with Teenage Fanclub, is in the best tradition of Glasgow melodic pop rock with a twist! Very Highly Recommended!

that's the most detail I've found about it...there are 4 short clips at Not Lame's store
