Mexican? Japanese? Shrimp cocktails? Korean BBQ? Sushi? Hometown Buffet? Fish tacos? Fried chicken? Sandwich?

I took off this morning to take care of some appointments, was supposed to meet my mom afterwards to go to lunch and she's nowhere to be found. (Why exactly did I buy her a cellphone if she never has it on??) So, the dogs and I are staring at each other wondering if we should go out to eat on our own or what.

PS -- I hate Hometown Buffet, don't suggest it.

Get sushi - if your timing is right, we'll both be eating it at the same time.

Mmmm...sushi. I swear when I win the lottery, I'm hiring a full-time sushi chef.

As for Thai, while I do love it, there aren't any good restaurants around here.

And Mexican, well...I was thinking about going to my usual spot. They make delicious homemade corn tortillas. With a cold beer maybe?

Ha! The cute, blonde surfer boy can be my bartender. Cuz I'll probably wanna have drunk sex with him later. ;)

Btw, went to my local authentic Mexican joint. Ate mojarra al mojo de ajo...basically, fish in garlic, with homemade tortillas. Goddamn, it was good and now officially fit my name, "Aural Stuffing".

but so yummy. and i mean that without the slightest hint of innuendo. i had them for the first time in san diego with just lettuce and lime squeezed over then top. most places i've been call then "pescado tacos" to avoid the unsavory association.

Think about fish & chips, except together. Not that far off.

I could definitely go for Mexican right now. What's open at 4:40am?

about 70 miles east. If I was back to where I grew up, then yes, not here in the mountain region.

Western MD lacks most things. All night joints being one of them. I have Sheetz, various grocery stores, and Denny's.

I was in Baltimore once about five years ago, kinda liked it. When I saw the row houses it reminded me od the movie Tin Men.

Yeah Baltimore is a great town. I love it. I grew up right by it, so I'm biased, but to me, it is one of the great majors. Just like with any other city, you need to know where to walk and where not to.

Its amazing that a few years before I was born the Inner Harbor was a hellhole. You couldn't give away the land. Then through a cutting edge real estate refurbishing they turned it into a million+ dollar rental area. A ton of other cities have adopted the plan, and refurbed its harbors as well. Cleveland comes to mind.

knowing where to walk and not to is key.

Actually, if you're having authentic Mexican fish tacos there is no lettuce involved, it's shredded cabbage. Squeeze some lime juice on those bad boys...goddamn, you're talkin' about paradise!

I'm going to BZ City today and so this afternoon I'll be at the country's only Indian eating tandoori, then later tonight, I'll be blowing money/drinking caprichanas at the casino...food will be involved tonight too, you can bet.

Noted your last posts in thread, and saw that even with a ten-and-an-half months head-start, FR is already 434 posts behind chowgurt.

WTF?

Can you get good avocados in MA? It's hard to get the nice ripe ones here in WI. I'm just spoiled from growing up in LA where you could go outside and grab one off the tree!
