those mostly check out, although Mayfield also had "Let's Do it Again" ;)

I don't actually have that album although I want it. I maybe all wrong on this, but although Mayfield is often credited with the album, its really a Staple Singers album. Its on Mayfield's Curtom label, I think he wrote the songs and produced the album but I don't know that he actually performed on it. Its commonly listed as a Mayfield rekkid, so I may be wrong on that.

it is, quite simply, the definitive live hard rock document. Nothing comes close.

finally someone votes for it! The only album of theirs I can listen to. It's gotten better as I've gotten older because I feel the material is more concerned with regret and reverence than any of their others...especially "Down By The Seaside" and my favorite all-time song of theirs "Ten Years Gone"

Another Green World is simply one of the most creative pop albums ever made. Score one for Eno.

Ironically, people say the same thing about Taking Tiger Mountain, but I can't stand that album. I'd take Before and After Science (underrated) over TTM any day of the week.

<---Hates it when Spade and I agree.....

Yeah, this has pretty much always been my favorite Zep record (III can make an argument and Houses is actually quite stunning); "Down By The Seaside" is just a brilliant song, man.

Other favorites: "The Rover", "In The Light", "The Wanton Song"

Also a shout out to "Boogie With Stu", dedicated to the late great Stones pianist and tour manager Ian Stewart. (Much of this album was recorded using the Rolling Stones mobile studio truck.)

Damn, we're two for two, because III is my second fave! Three probably gets more love from guys like us because other than the Immigrant Song, none of the songs were every really played on the radio.

Wish You Were Here, hands down. One of my two favourite albums of all time.

Queen is a good second.

Yeah, III is my favorite Zep with Physical Grafitti a close 2nd. It might've gotten my vote if not for Eno, Young or Dylan.

Hard to believe with all the Bowie, Eno & Herbie Hancock but I gotta go with Wish You Were Here.

Burning Spear - Marcus Garvey is another classic I love outta '75

EDIT: Oh shit! I messed up & voted "other" & not "WYWH". For some reason I didn't see it as a choice. crud

I voted for Queen, and by the way that album is being re-released as some CD/DVD version today/tomorrow.

And wasn't Big Star's Sister Lovers released in '75?

It's generally counted as a '78 release. It would be my favorite in any year though.

For '75, I'll go with other: Pour Down Like Silver by Richard and Linda Thompson.

Wish You Were Here, Zuma, Blood on the Tracks, and Another Green World follow closely.

Thanks for doing these threads, SK - s'a great idea.

Also from '75:

The Dictators Go Girl Crazy
Ian Hunter s/t
The Sweet Desolation Boulevard
Sensational Alex Harvey Band Tomorrow Belongs To Me

Any one of these could be my fave on any given day. Two of these were on my Listmania, the other two didn't make it because I limited my list to one album per artists, and "Framed" and "Bloodbrothers" bumped these two. Still, excellence all around.

If you haven't heard Ian Hunter's album, do yourself a favor.

Also, Alex Harvey's cover of "Tomorrow Belongs" is an absolute trip. If you can separate the track from it's Cabaret context, it's a wonderful, bucolic ode. Add the cabaret context, and it's downright menacing. Quite an achievement that Harvey can make it work both ways.
