The guy is a friend of mine and is simply the best tech in the city. Let's put it this way, Albini sent Cobain to Geoff when he was recording In Utero.

He just opened his own place a year ago and, like I said, he's a friend. But also, he is DAMN good, or I wouldn't be hyping his shop. (He builds guitars and sells a lot of strange old things, there, too.) It's a tiny little place, though.

We had an amp guy like this in my sleepy little town (oregon, WI, where I just sold the house), who was known for amp work all the hell over. Helluva guy, but the store folded and he went back underground, and now I can't find him easily.
