I've had them off and on for the last few years. But end up putting them in a drawer somewhere. If you are anal about using it ALL the time like some do it's great. but otherwise it is just another gadget. I'm not disciplined enough to stay on top of it cos I'm lame.

I don't use it as an organizer.
I use it mostly as an address book.
I make notes in it sometimes, like lists of albums I want to buy or my top lists of the year.
I also have a encrypted program where I keep all my internet passwords and social security numbers and such. Plus it's fun for games, like bejeweled and chess!

I don't use it too often, but I'd be lost without it.

ditto. i've been using my cell phone's calendar and i find it much more useful because in order to have a calendar be effective you have to have it with you all the time and i like to travel light. even a cellie is somewhat burdensome to me.

Having another tech device to keep up with all the time isn't appealing to me. I use the calendar, etc. on my web-based email.

I would think that the PDA/cell phone combos could be pretty useful, though. Useful but expensive.

I have a an old Handspring Visor Platinum. It's a little big, but it does EVERYTHING I need, including having a place for a cartridge so I can back up my files to the card. (Most palm pda's only have flash memory, so if the batteries get too dead, or if you take too long switching them, you lose all your data and need to re-sync. so this card allows me to recover data or back it up remotely.) It's also not color which is fine with me since color ones eat up more batteries. Mine uses 2 'AAA'
Most of the newer ones have a built in battery that charges when you sync it up which is probably better since it forces you to sync up more often, therefore sort of negating the card that I have.
You can probably score one of ebay for $40.
You can use it with Microsoft Outlook to sync up your contacts and calendar and such too, but I use the Palm software for now.

I've had various PDA/Cell Phone combos for about 5 years. They used to be expensive when I first got one, but they've come way down in price. I don't really know why anyone would want to carry two gizmos when you can make do with one.

carrying 2 gizmos wouldn't bother me at all. that's why i carry a bag with me everywhere.

i'd love a blackberry. but they're so gosh darn expensive.

Once someone makes a PDA-phone with a 'good' camera (1+ megapixel) and a huge mp3 player (at least 1 gb), I am dropping some change on it, and selling off all my other thingy's. My phone now has fm radio on it, which I like. If it had am, it would be cooler. Also my phone has a flashlight in it which I use ALL the time. It'll be hard to part with it when my plan is up, but I hate the phone as a phone, haha.

I've used a calendar since I was in college. DayTimer kept me organized for many years. And FINALLY converted to modern technology a couple of years when a friend gave me their old Palm PDA. I loved it! A couple of months ago, I upgraded to the following:

It's perfect for what I want it for. Not expensive, small and fits my organizing needs.

My new employer just issued me a Treo 650 yesterday, and I've been playing with it ever since. If I could just pull up Obner with it, I'd think it was the most perfect device ever created. But without the aforementioned Obnability, it's merely freakin' sweet.
