I read this five times and literally cannot make heads or tails or it. It's like William Faulkner writing CD reviews except the writing really sucks.

The Liars, It Fit When I Was A Kid

Glee club cats might dig this tricked out Arvo Pärt rip, the unison beginning at least. From the depths of They Were Wrong's witchy woods and flimsy tom-tom hides, the Berlin transplants chant monkish bunk that trumps their older material for imagery/nonsense: "Deep at the end of space/ further than the sun/ Is a crowd of chairs" is the first line, and least hurly-burly. What the fuck do we need drowned out Wrong for, I ask, but christ those second-half harmonies over the organ drones put a whole new spin on things don't they, really captures the alienation/resentment vibe Liars willed beforehand. That the melody's stuck in falsetto makes "Kid" for the kids, but don't gloss over this line: "We will leave you in the woods/ Tell your friends/ that you slipped down the lumen tree." They don't want your corn; they want to give you peace. [Nick Sylvester]

i get it but i don't like it. the last line make no sense when you compare it to the rest (the whole indian/pilgrim thing) except that its near thanksgiving.

Nick Sylvester is horrible. I'm pretty sure nearly every Pitchfork review we've complained about on Obner has been written by him.

where's the thxgiving besides the corn?

did the children of the corn want corn?

"They don't want your corn; they want to give you peace."

thought that had something to do the pilgrims approaching the indians to join them for supper -- before, they went to indians for corn because they couldn't manage to make their own food.

i don't know.
