Was just coming downstairs after getting the kids to bed and the flush in the downstairs bathroom started gurgling and bubbling. Overflowed all over the laundry room even though no one was in there.

Just my luck my spirits would be that lame.

I had to cut out a piece of carpeting from around the flush because the brain trusts who remodeled the bathroom before my family moved in thought it would be oh so sensible to put carpet, um, around a fucking flush.

Some of the water appears to have gone into the mop board and seeped into the cellar. I need to scrub the room thoroughly.

The problem's probably in the cellar. Course if they's constipated demonic forces down there, I'm not sure I'm equipped to deal with 'em like a Ratzenberger or Wendt from House I & II would be.

Oh, I got the flush unclogged fine. But the worrisome thing is it bubbled over when no one was in there and no one had flushed.

Unless Kevin Bacon is in there all invisible or something.

Was the washer running? This happened to us once - only the overflow came up the kitchen sink, not the toilet. Those washers dump a lot of water into the pipes quickly.
