Saw him last night and he was pretty fucking awesome. He did Bin Laden, Peruvian Cocaine, One, Dance With The Devil and a few others. It was a kind of short set but it was worth it.

Akir went on before him and he was pretty good but I had to put up with:

Diabolic - Very average mc who did like 3 acapellas and didn't have the vocal presence to carry them. Also, isn't it kind of ignorant at a hip hop show to say "Who wants to punch the motherfucker next to them in the face?"?

Poison Pen - Jesus, this guy would not shut up all night. Subpar Onyx-type mc who was really fucking annoying. The best part was when he was talking to the crowd about "All my people with breathing problems" (earlier he said he has asthma) and Tech goes "You gonna have a permanent breathing problem if you don't let me do this".

Poison Pen is awesome from what I've heard recorded. That song with Technique is fucking annoying.

I haven't heard any of his recorded stuff but he really didn't have a good flow and was mostly just yelling.

reviving this thread b/c i've been listening to this on the subway the last 2 days, & it's prob the most exposure ive had to his stuff.
i like some other 'independent' hiphop [is that what it is? i cant tell these days] and this shit is def some of the best ive heard. gets my blood up, in a good way.
i prob look ridiculous doing my little head bob/seat dance on the subway, but who gives a fuck. the beats are awesome, he flows, and he's fucking ANGRY, which makes ME angry, which makes me move more, which probably looks even more ridiculous.
but i'm liking the hell out of this.

i've always thought that his beats really let him down, and that if he could step them up the tiniest bit he could make something really special.

I hate that song he does with Mos Def. Because of Mos Def. Otherwise, his stuff stands up pretty well in my eyes.

the bin laden one? the remix with chuck d and krs-one is sooooooo much better.
