Have at it.

Not sure what to think yet. They've definitely kept the poppier edge [on this single anyway], while I was hoping they'd move into a heavier direction. Check it out and see if you hate it more than their previous work.

I was mildly amused by their last hit and video, but this is just lame and boring.

Does this sound kinda like a Queen coverband to anyone else?

I didn't think it was possible, but this is even lamer than their previous spewage. And there will only ever be one Queen.

It's not bad, I kinda like it. It never quite gets to where it wants to.

I think it needs more cowbell though.

Thanks for the link, D.

Sorry, I won't even give The Darkness the satisfaction of listening to that song.

Didn't click the link - this is just the single, right? I heard that on MySpace awhile back.

I hear some Sweet in this, too.

Not a bad tune, but not really a grabber. I'm looking forward to the album, in part cuz I wanna hear the song about how the singer's going bald.

Dalen, I'm so glad that freedom-hating hurricane didn't blow your house into the Gulf.

Thanks for this.

Beat me to it. I was just about to say, "Gulf? Now that would be a Hurricane!"

What size generator you looking at, D? Do y'all have Northern Hydraulic stores down there? They have some pretty decent deal and a huge selection of generators.

And I have no interest in The Darkness.

i'll have to check on Northern Hydraulic.

my pops got a generator that runs his entire house. not sure on the size, but right when the power knocks out, the generator kicks in, so he's all good. i've got a year to find the right one.

Yeah, they have those....Pretty expensive, but fucking awesome if you ever need it. My brother is actually trying to convince his wife's mom and step dad to get one since they live in $1 million+ house.

The other $$ part of a whole-house switchover system is the cutover box, wherein your power comes from either your service feed on one side or the genny on the other. Those are not something to fuck with over the weekend. Install on that is gonna be pricey. Otherwise, if you can live with just your fridge and some lights, Honda and co. make plenty of 30-50 ampers that you can wheel out of the garage in a pinch and plug shit into. Those are just a few hundred bucks, methinks.

All this talk of losing power and The Darkness.

In the same thread, even.

Oh, and in case the amperage is mysterious, figure a fridge will take up about 6-8 amps, a 60 watt bulb is half an amp, a 1500-watt microwave is around 13 amps, a toaster can be up to 15, and a big heater can draw 20.

Listened to that single last night, sounds good so far.

I've only got a couple songs on the album left to listen to, & I gotta say it's fruitier than the debut.

I don't mean that as an insult, though. They've got balls to ratchet up the 1 aspect of the band that turns a lot of people off.

This new album is way more Queen-ish.
