From punknews.org :

The Pogues are coming stateside in March to play a few dates for us Yankees. After playing their annual holidays tour with Boston punks Dropkick Murphys, the oft-inebriated London/Irish folk punks will cross the pond for a string of 5 dates on the East Coast of the U.S., including a St. Patrick's Day show in Times Square. As yet, tour support has not been announced.

The band has also posted a "Travelpogue" on their website, an account by a community member documenting "the trials and tribulations he and his family endure as they make their way to The Pogues’ 2005 shows in Birmingham."

The highly influential band released The Ultimate Collection earlier this year, a two disc set, containing a "best of" compilation and a live set recorded in 2001 at the Brixton Academy.

update: Tickets for the US shows go on sale Saturday, November 26, 2005.

Date-City-Venue

March 10, 2006-Washington-9.30 Club
March 11, 2006-Atlantic City-Borgata
March 14, 2006-Boston-Orpheum
March 16-18, 2006-New York-Nokia Theatre, Times Square

most likely between 20 and 30. Well, that's what I think, because that's the price range of the majority of shows at the 9:30 Club.

Unless you're Devo and think you can charge 55 dollars for no opening act and play for an hour. Bastards.

Thank god I didn't go to that.

This might be worth exploring getting tickets for.

Full page ad in the Village Voice...full original lineup, including Shane. 50 bucks, though. Kinda steep if it turns out to be a trainwreck. Or maybe that's the fun of it.

I got friends who are going.
Yep... $50.
If you go, just pray that Shane stays sober enough to complete the show.

IF?! Shane's body is like 45% grain alcohol at this point. He gets mosquitoes drunk.

The label produced expanded editions of Red Roses for Me, Rum Sodomy and the Lash, If I Should Fall From Grace With God and Peace & Love and Hell's Ditch.
