Is their song "It's Raining" (on Bloor's 2005 best of Vol1) the Irma Thomas song metioned in that Bicycle Thief song on Rads' Slowcore Monger Mix?

That BiCycle Thief song has become my favorite on that mix. Its so fucking qual. The "I run to no one/ I believe in nothing/ it's raining, baby over and over and over and over" is just too awesome.

And the actual song Its RAining is awesome as well. I should find the irma thomas version, methinks.

Another music nerd and I were talking a couple months ago, and both figured that "It's Raining" is one of those songs that is a litmus test for finding the "real thing." If a band can't pull off a solid cover of it, then they have no business being in my reckid collection.

Edit: I think you'd dig that entire Bicycle Thief album, Loogs. And also look for Lou Ann Barton's version of "It's Raining" - cuz she kills it.

That Bicycle Thief album is on my list, for sure. Might have to be february or so...Christmas is a killer this year. Fucking consumer driven society
