I've never paid much attention to what the rest of the world thought was good, always followed my own instincts. Sometimes led to falling flat, but sometimes led to some real gems.

These are the only ones in my Top-20.

Ahem... Kiddo I was peaking in Stones' concerts before your PARENTS were out of diapers. I love the new Stones, but can't really place it in the list, the pantheon.

And I think S. Stevens is the work of the year. My chromonomes can bitch-slap yours anyday. Mufti manifold and manifest. Critical fatwa.

He has cast a voice that is unique, and emotionally challenging and engaging (difficult to craft in this post post-modern wimp world of bling and DIY and corporately approved scepticsm). He layers sounds and arrangements without being baroque or fussy. Much of everything else on this list is derivative. Stevens is a genuine headcase... whereas Anthony is an empress with no clothes.
