If you're going to go the black pants route - I would suggest slim - it's all about balance and flow. I would however, suggest something a bit different - denim. I would go with a tapered, slightly distressed pair of jeans - I think the combination of an elegant/sophisticated top would be nicely balanced with a good pair of jeans - kind of a casual elegance. The whole "matchy matchy" mantra is old.

Also, put some thought into your accessories - the model's necklace is subtle and brings a sense of balance to the top.

this is true... a nice pair of dark denim jeans would go well, but I think that would just be too casual for the party (but it'd be fun to wear out otherwise). While my heart leans towards the black flared pants, really and truly, I'm going to need to try them on with the top to see how it works. I think the pants would need to be fitted up top through the thigh. My hips are wide anyway so I don't want to accentuate the fact that I have wide hips.

Are chokers slutty? I don't want to look slutty, but I thought a tighter fitting, shorter necklace would work better. Yes, on the dangly earrings, yes on a cuff bracelet. Don't know how I'd wear my hair, but probably down.

And Derris, my husband would divorce me immediately if I ever wore that sweater, even as a gag.

ayah? Where's ayah???

i don't know about the choker... depends on the style. imo, chokers are a bit outdated. i like that necklace in the picture though because it's simple. i like simple accessories. actually though, the length is a bit long.

like i said before, flare might work but it depends on how big the flare is... less is better. i still stand by go with the slim pants. that's way hotter. ;)

No on the choker. And agree with simple accessories. No on denim...not for a holiday party.

And, btw, Dana, you've got nice curves (yes, that includes your hips and ass). Show off what you've got, baby!

I'm too late to this party to add anything new, except I'm sure you're going to look amazing.

Hahahahaha... how'd you do that Chow?

That was going to be my suggestion - cute top and black hose. She rides a bike, I bet she's got great legs.

This is much funnier when you live in a country where 'pants' is slang for underwear.

cropped black trim "trousers"

short, unassuming skirt -- mid thigh

don't take attention away from the shirt and the "neckline"... go with a pendant or small-beaded, neutral color necklace.

I'm not particularly well-versed in this sort of thing... but I agree that slim slightly flared pants would look nice. Beautiful top. Very original.
