I´m a skinny guy. Not crack-indie-white belt-skinny, but thin. Slighter than average. But then there's my gut. It's pretty ridiculous. How can a person be skinny everywhere except one place?! fuck that. And it seems pretty impossible to get rid of.

I'm certain we have some men who've fought this war. Any suggestions? tips? stories of victory?

Yeah. Beer is foul. Top-shelf vodka is where it's at.

Oh, oh! I mixed Goldschlager with eggnog last week....

I'm facing the same situation right now. I weigh 155 now... I'm 5'11. I'm getting a belly and a double chin. The belly I can live with, but why the fuck do I have to get a double chin? It's not that big yet, but it's a sign of things to come.

Sadly, it's probably time to start "exercising". Can't rely on my metabolism anymore.

You want a real scare? Take both your hands, grab your skin by pinching it about halfway up your neck, and pull down and apart -- it's a freakin' movie screen.

Don't freak out -- everyone's does this, I'm just messin' with ya.

Eggnog? What's next a big glass of peanut oil?

You might want to cut back on that.

also it may seem unrelated but changing your avatar might help.

I hate when tall people complain about weight. Usually those who are actually battling with it daily would prefer not to draw attention to it. Congrats you bunch of skinny narcisists.

Fuck you...

I was 5'11" 145 at one point. Now 6", 185.

I'm even worse, I'm 5'7 and about 180. That's said, I carry my weight pretty well. I find it scary that according to those charts I should weigh in about the 150-160 range. There wouldn't be anything to me.

I do think if I cut out the booze, I'd easily be able to drop another 10.

Try cycling (mountain biking, in particular).

Loads of fun, and it keeps me skinny (even with all the beer I drink).

I think this sounds rather yummy.

I have a similar problem. I'm not skinny, really but my gut is definitely not where I'd like it. It's my own fault though, I rarely work out. I think it's pretty much just excersize you need. Cardio + ab crunches.

I didn't realize they perfected the shrink ray.

I'm sure you meant 6'.

Chicks don't dig the spare tire, nor do they dig the buddha, or any other euphemism for a gut. If you've got a gut, you already know that you don't get any kind of special treatment. What you do about that is up to you.

I quit drinking, yeah i miss it. I'm on a diet, and I hate it. I bike to work and rehearsal and anywhere else I go that doesn't require me to haul gear. I started August 15th when i was 5'10 and 246, and as of last night the scale read 199.4. Still a long ways to go, and it's no fun, but all I can say is that when your level of self-hate exceeds your indulgences, then you drop the weight.

If it bothers you enough, you'll do something about it.

I love these weight threads. YOU PEOPLE ARE TINY. I mean its like Gulliver's fucking travels around here. If me and Bloor and Derris showed up anywhere, you'd all freak out (but those too are SKINNY FUCKS, me, I'm FAAAAAAAT!!)

I have a plan for me and FEMGAR to be a combined 1/2 ton by election day of 2006.
