i wish I've done something like this. I've been on the Great Beer Experiment since May and haven't tallied anything.

Ive had these and enjoyed both, the flying dog moreso as well...I like goose island a lot, but I'm a little tired of Honkers.

If I ever drink, it won't be beer. I can't see myself ever liking it.

I've got more to add from my week in Wisconsin...plus some stuff in my fridge that i've yet to try. Madison was quite fun last week and got to hit the Essen Haus again for some good beers.

Did you try any brews from Capitol Brewery?
My cousin started that place in the late-80's; traveled to Germany to get all the recipes from a brewmeister over there.

But he has nothing to do with the place anymore.

Just curious what you thought.
(Personally, I think their döpplebök is awesome.)

One of the better things that have happened to me since moving to Chicago. It's cheaper than Sammy at the grocery store. Their Summer ale is dynamite as well.

They've recently started selling Goose Island here, and it's damn fine beer.

For my 21st birthday, I went to the brewery/restaurant with a couple of friends. It's a nice place and a good time. Especially in the summer when they hold "Goose Island Fest".

Past musical entertainment has included (if memory serves): Los Lobos, Bob Mould, and Ben Folds. Outside. In the beer garden.

And, I cannot find my favorite microbrew around here, sadly enough: a PORTLAND brew:
Bert Grant's Scottish Ale

Dana, you other Portlanders, you know it?

On my last trip to Chicago (2003?), I went to the brewery across from Wrigley Field. Of course, we went on a day right before a game, so as soon as the game started, the place cleared out, and I had the sampler! As far as I know, they're only selling the IPA and oatmeal stout here right now.

hmm, heard of it, but Todd, there's really SO MUCH to choose from here, I tend to skip over the ones that are popular. Let me look around... I have a feeling they don't make it anymore.

i had some Victory Golden Monkey at a bar a couple months ago and it was great. I believe that is a Pittsburgh brew.

The Carolina Brewery is about 25 minutes up the road from me, but I have yet to take the Brewery Tour. My friend raves about it. $5 for afternoon drunkenness is not bad at all.
