I think of The Verve when it comes to you. For obvious reasons.

And even then you can still be unpredictable.

I tend to think no one here with the obvious exception of loogar & polka could be defined so easy

For example, I'm very surprised to see that todd knowing spade would pick bowie for spade over Kiss, King Crimson, or Badfinger all of which come equally to mind for me when thinking of SK and all of which come to mind well before Bowie.

Bowie is and was one of my top 5, but since he's already so discussed I don't trumpet him nearly as much here or on other music boards. I was also in a bowie cover band and still cover a bunch of bowie songs at open mic. If you know me personally, it makes a lot more sense. Kiss, King Crimson, Badfinger (and Zappa) are also all excellent choices though :D

I agree, which is what I think is going to make this an interesting thread.

I don't think I'm as easily defined as some of you seem to think.

These days I honestly can't think of just one artist that would define me.

If I had a gun to my head, I'd pick T Rex but like I said I don't think most of us are so easily defined.

And it may surprise Todd but I'm a bigger Bowie fan than a Veloso fan, but probably don't trumpet him for the same reasons. Despite the fact that I love and respect Veloso, he's not even my favorite Brasilian artist.
