I remember whe I first joined CMJ in 2003/02 and I COULD NOT STAND kocf...but I slowly warmed up to him, now I wanna make out with him, um I mean...he's ok.

When I was 17 I was dating a girl I didn't respect. She was nice, but everything she said and thought seemed so contrived and shallow. I guess I liked her, but at the same time I hated her for making me believe this was all there was.

Five years have passed, and I recently saw her again. She is doing the same things she was doing back then. Still living with her parents. With the wisdom of my advanced age, I realize I was unfair to her. I never knew all her thoughts. But it also reinforces the fact that I made the right decision.

It isn't about her being "inferior." It's about my failure to be able to respect her, and the saving grace that I realized that about myself, and decided that it wasn't the kind of person I wanted to be.

Is this just a story you thought of when you read we were 17, or are you trying to apply this to something?
