I know there are some pretty big B&S fans here. If you want the new one, get it here

worth downloading myself? I'm not a big fan, but they have some good songs.

i think that you really only need one B&S album, and this one doesn't change that. it does have some anachronistic moments like this one organ riff that i think they ripped off a sly stone record, but it's nothing that's going to surprise anyone. most of their defining elements are still represented.

i've been trying to think of a reason to be excited about this for like ten minutes now. Their few last albums average one good song a pop for me so I'm probably just gonna give up now and buy more GnR collectable shimmy discs.

agree with cotton. there's 3 standouts on this so far for me, but that's about it really.

I like the overall production - the echo on the vox, sustain in the guitars, etc. Stuart's vocals sound tremendously strong throughout - not that they ever sounded weak, necessarily, just that it sounds like he really tried to challenge himself a bit.

It took me a bit to really like Dear Catastrophe, but now that's easily up there for me as "best B&S record," along with the obvious first 2. So, I don't quite expect to be blown away on first listen...

I can't wait to hear this. The release of Push Barman to Open Old Wounds has really got my fandom at an all-time high.

FYI, when I tried to unzip the .rar files (or is in unRAR the files?) for the two parts of the album, some of the mp3s were corrupt.

Could be it (failed to) download "completely" even though your browser said it did. Happened to me on my first try (OS X, Firefox).

edit...

Which one would that be? I think they have at least two essential records "Are You Feeling Sinister" and "Push barman..."

B&S is one of the only bands I refuse to download before I buy.

I just love them so much that I want that feeling when I pick up the album in store on the release day and open it and it put it in the cd player for the first time.

That's a good reason. I think I'm gonna listen anyway, then buy it after Christmas.

Agreed. I'll do the same. The only ones I can say are completely inessential is Hold Your Breath Child... and the Storytelling soundtrack.
