I only just saw this - I thought it was going to be about the stomach flu I got.

This is really discouraging to hear, Colin. It's evident even from your casual posts that you have a strong character and try hard to do the right thing, and I hate to hear when this stuff happens to people like you. I hope you wife is able to open her heart back up to reconciliation.

You and me both buddy. Although I bet yours was worse. I'm trying to book a ticket for that interview. I'm trying to see if that position is even open still.

Anyhow... that's what's shaking. Maybe I'll see you in A-TX shortly.

Just read through this again because I wasn't getting any work done. Thanks for the good words, folks.

I hate to say it, but you're going to have lots of those. I know its harder said than done but try not to focus too much on the daily ups and downs. With time, things will get better either way.

In the meantime, just try to treat yourself well. Buy yourself something nice just for the hell of it, make an effort to reconnect with friends you've lost touch with, see a movie full of car chases and random killings, and plan a guy's weekend to look forward to. You'll be surprised how much it helps.

I don't know how I'm just now seeing this, but I am.

Marriages are all a series of peaks and valleys. I recently went through a pretty low valley myself. Something very similar to what you speak of. Luckily for me and the kids, my wife sorted it out and things are ok now. Remember this: time heals all wounds. If she really loves you as much as you love her, she'll realize it and things will work out fine. If she doesn't, you're better off anyway. As far as I can see, you've done nothing wrong, unless doing your best to make a better life for the both of you is wrong. The context of her situation is the unknown here. Without it, none of us (even you) can do anything. Just keep your mind as much on the straight and narrow as possible and let the chips fall. My avatar can be taken literally, if needed. Sure helps me. You're good people.

I just read through this whole thread. I had no idea what it was about when I saw it the other day and just figured someone didn't get their green bean casserole or something. Sorry to hear about this Colin. Shitty time of the year for it to happen too.

One of my best friends went through a similar experience this year. We're here for you as only the obnish can be. Definitely hang with those around you that will support you, give you some laughs, and remind you what a good person you are when you're in the depths. It'll take time, but you'll see, the family and friends will be all around to help or simply be there.

I couldn't express it better than this:

I too just caught this. I'm sorry to hear about it, truly. I know it's not gonna feel like ti for a looong time, but you just have to look at this as a twist of fate and while nobody intended it to happen, it certainly did and the best thing you can do is just try to live your life. Not in a callous or bitter way, but you only need to swallow your anxiety and see where life takes you. also for what it's worth Austin is filled to the brim with really hot chicks. for what it's worth.

Hey, but you're in this club, too, if I recall your visage correctly.

My nose is a not-very-Jewish nose. I could pass for Irish by it. It's somewhat prominent, but it's not a schnoz.

In any case, Colin. Colin. Colin. Be well, my friend. Find me, if need be.
