P.S. I'd like to know the ones that people aren't admitting to (like Popeye and The Pirate Movie...... and Short Circuit (Haq, I'm looking at you)).

There are a number of people on this board whom I know I would get along with immediately just based on the movies they know by heart. As a metric, this might even be more predictive than musical taste.

I'm happy to see the love for Point Break and Roadhouse. I know Loog's will chime in here too. He's a Point Break fan, if I'm not mistaken.

Seriously, it's one of my top 5-10 favorite movies ever.

There are some movies I watch all the time, regardless of whether I feel like watching them or now. There are probably dozens I know by heart, but the ones I know best (not including TV, a whole other ballpark):

-Night of the Living dead
-Dawn of the Dead (orig.)
-The Big Lebowski
-Terror In the Aisles
-Halloween I and II
-The Abominable Dr. Phibes
-Every Wes Anderson movie
-Highball
-The Warriors
-Every Tarentino movie
-The Great Escape
-The Chinese Connection, Enter the Dragon
-Drunken Master II, Meals On Wheels
-The Magnificent Seven
-Stripes
-Spies Like Us

jesus this is retarded I could go on for weeks.

Okay, the Explorers. You know, about the kids that build a spaceship from a Tandy computer and stuff from a junkyard. I wonder if that's out on DVD. Also, the movie with Fred Savage turning into a monster, and Howie Mandell. And I can't believe I left out the Warriors. When I was like 13 I used to look in the TV listings every week to see if it was coming on.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

The scene where the care backs out the window, into the ravine?
That house is across the street from the house where I used to rehearse with my first-ever band.

It's on Beech St. in Highland Park, IL.
All of John Hughes' films are shot in and around the area where I grew up.

Also, in Risky Business... during the car chase scene, you'll see a corner drug store called "Giselle's" as the limo peels around the corner. That is about 3 doors down from the store where I bought my first records - the late, great Rainbow Records in uptown Highland Park.

There are a dozen or so other instances I could probably name of places I hung out as a lad appearing in Hughes films.
