Alright, just to check myself, I noticed there were some slight tweaks from last year's league

Passing yards: 25 yds/pt -> 30 yds/pt - I most likely did this as a reaction to Peyton/Daunte fest 2004. At 25 yards, Peyton is boosted from 15th to 9th on the current leader board (still below what most expected), and the QB/RB/WR is a bit more even. I have no issue with bringing it back to 25 next year, and that should even out the position on normal years.

Fumbles/INT: -1 pt -> -2 pts - If you make a mistake, you pay.

2 PT conversions: 0 pt -> 2 pts - While this doesn't compleletly offset the passing yardage, it's still a boost.

Everything else was the same.

but to make my point:

Peyton Manning has only 166.73 points with 22 touchdown passes thrown.

Rouben Droughns has 149.60 points with only 2 touchdowns scored

You can't tell me that Peyton is only slightly more valuable than Rouben. That's ridiculous. Peyton is way more productive in the Indianapolis offense than Rouben is for Cleveland.

Edit: I'm not blaming this as the reason my team sucks, I'll leave that up to my suspect draft picks and the worst wide receiver corps out there, along with the problems in the waiver wire, because everytime I have gone out to get someone who had a good week, someone else with a better record had already snatched them up. I understand this is a problem with Yahoo, and not with any setting in the league.

Without Peyton, Indy still has Edge and Marvin Harrison. Without Droughns and with Suggs' injury, Cleveland has... Trent Dilfer? Antonio Bryant? Droughns is just as valuable (if not more given his ability to catch the ball 2-3 times a week) to his team.

Peyton Manning is having a down year for Peyton, which is a good year by almost any other QB's standards. Even if you don't expect him to break records, 3000/30 after week 12 isn't unreasonable given his prior performance. The team has been able to win without him gunning it. Edge has been healthy, and the defense has stepped up. That's not the scoring system's fault. With last year's scoring, Peyton would be around 190 right now. The difference is less than 2 points per game. Would that be enough for you? EDIT: Just saw your edit. Thanks for that. Waiver wire is something we can look into.

Are quarterbacks the leader of the offense? Yes, which makes them arguably he most important player. That doesn't justify scoring all yardage and touchdowns equally so the QB is scoring 50% or more of a team's points. Remember OPA's league two years ago?

Droughns is as valuable to his team, and probably more so because his team is so bad.
But comparable valuable in the league should be way less.

Edit: and without Peyton, Marvin Harrison becomes a lot less valuable. (Referece Muhsin Muhammad in Chicago, he went from the top receiver in the league last year, to a piece of crap without a decent quarterback.)

Points taken. A better approach for your argument might be that Droughns is outscored by 11 RBs, 8 WRs, 1 TE (!), and only 4 QBs. 25yds/point would have rectified that a bit despite a minimal points-per-game effect. I might go back to -1 for turnovers also, but I'm not going any further than that.

Nah, I like the -2 for turnovers. Those things are costly in the real game.
:P

it's the 4 vs. 6 points for a passing touchdown, that I am campaiging for, in addition to the 25 yards per point. ;)
