listen to entire albums or shuffle your entire catalog, or hunt and peck certain songs on certain albums? I find myself doing all three at one point or another.

when I'm at the computer I usually shuffle or hunt and peck, and on the road, I like listening to whole albums.

Most of the time I'm listening to whole albums. Only occasionally do I shuffle the entire ipod. Usually it's too disjointed for me to enjoy.

I usually listen to whole albums. It's hard for me to shuffle my entire catalog because most of my music is not on the computer and I only have a 5-disc changer (not an 850-disc changer).

Now that my iPod is dead, I stick to entire albums. On the comp, I listen to mixes (iTunes shuffle BLOWS.)

Whole albums. Drives other people crazy in the car. Most people I know are song skippers. I like to take it in as it was sequenced out.

Usually when I'm listening to music 'out loud' I'll listen to whole albums.

If I'm sitting over at the stereo with my headphones on I tend to hunt and peck since I'm close to the CD collection.

While working, shuffle.

Otherwise, as konstantinL.

My prime music listening is while commuting to/from work -- I listen to whole albums.

Almost always full albums, though I occasionally will kind of DJ for myself. Very rarely random shuffle.

albums, period. im quite snobbish. the only times i dont are when im in the car (but i listen to sports talk a lot anyway) and if i dont have enough time to fit a whole one in. so pretty much 99% of the time, albums.

If my wife isn't around mostly whole albums.

At work I feel bad subjecting my peers to whole albums. I intentionally went out and bought something for my space with more wattage then my peer's systems at work. Shuffling keeps the hordes at bay. Unless I play me some Lamb of God, or Opeth. Then I get sneers and the usual hate-mongering.

Even with the iPod I listen to whole albums.

For one, listening to shuffle drains the hell out of my battery. But, I feel bad when i skip tracks on an album, even if i dont like them much.

While working, my iPod is on shuffle. It'd take to long to stop and pick out a new album to listen to each time. Unless I just bought/uploaded a new album.

While drunk, shuffle. I want variety.

Any other time, I prefer to listen to the entire album.

Albums - the only prob being that if I get sick of that album/artist or have to turn it off, it sucks that the rest of the songs on the album (the later songs) don't get heard as much.

Sometimes I start albums halfway thru to make up - but not neccesarily the ones I had to cut off short. Anyone else do this?

The only time I do not reach for a different artist is when I have made a mix of many bands or a comp by one singular artist's work to be heard straight through; otherwise each track played usually summons me to hear a different artist extemporaneaously.

Edit: I have to say I was not fully apparent. When I drive I usually listen to the whole album. I drive alot. And, when my family is out of the house for a while and long enough to go through an album, I will. So said, the latter being rarer time allowed than the former. Some albums compel me to listen all the way through, so I don't wanna go off like I listen to singles only.
