I was in a Mexican restaurant across town, but here's one account from the decent Call Me Mickey mp3 blog.

Dear Lady Sovereign.

You are whiny little bitch. Has that Def Jam contract got you so gased up over yourself you think you can just fuck with Philadelphia music go-ers like that. I want you to know that even though there was a handful of people up front that bought your bullshit about "the monitors being shit" the majority of us think you are a spoiled brat. Thank you for the following... Making me wait in line from 9:30 til 10:45 to get into a show that doors were scheduled for 9pm and the show to start at 10pm. Thank you for bringing your crappy Dj who cut off Dev79 and Starkey to play mediocre grime, mixing track after track after track of the same weak ass beat over and over again. Thank you for coming out on stage only to play Blah Blah Blah and then taking your frustration out on us and the sound guy by refusing to play a single song more. Sorry you couldn't hear your self great in the monitors. I have one question though.. you haven't become a big deal in the music world until recently, is this really the first gig you've played that sound was less than sub-par? Honestly, I think you sounded like shit, and I'd venture you aren't a talented MC if you can't rap over a fucking beat in a club. My stoner friends can freestyle over a beat playing out of a frat party speaker, why can't you rap over speakers much superior to the ones I've seen. In case you missed the sarcasm throughout the letter, I have one last statement. That is the last show in Philly you will ever sell-out.

Fuck You,
mickey

on a serious note....

Dear Ghislain Poirier,

Thank you for rocking the roof off of the Silk City. You dropped some banging beats and you were a super chill dude. Thank you for giving the audience something positive to remember.

and for Dev79 and Starkey,

Fucking killer as usual.

oh, this was at silk city? that place is about the size of three cubicles in my office and the sound can get muddy, but i've never heard it however bad she may've thought. this doesn't really change my opinion of her at all, though.

I saw Spiritualized there years ago and they sounded great. I missed the Black Keys there last year but I heard it was super loud. I don't really have too much of an opinion of LS either way, but I heard 3 seperate accounts now of how much of a bitch she was.

yeah it was right before Ladies & Gentlemen... came out. It was the first time I'd ever heard of them and my brothers's friend took me because he knew I was doin a lot of drugs at the time.

I'm pretty sure they played there more recently than then, though, because I was shocked that they hadn't moved up in the chain of philly venues. though they're the types of folk that could get content so who knows.

I see her name so much and I know she's in town on Tuesday. Her music is bad? I've had mp3s in a folder for awhile now that just never made it into winamp.

I didn't go to her show here tonight partly because of this story.
