Such a nimrod. Obviously, what little intelligence he had has been completely wasted away by all the shit he's been doing.

From NME:

Quote:
Doherty: "They'll send me back to jail"
Babyshambles star at crisis point after latest arrest

Pete Doherty has admitted he fears he will land up in prison after his arrest this week.

The troubled Babyshambles singer was arrested again on Tuesday (November 29) on suspicion of carrying Class A drugs, and must return to the police station later this month.

Talking to the Sunday Mirror today, Doherty described the incident: "I was driving with Wolfman and got stopped because they thought I was driving erratically. We were just unlucky to get pulled over."

Doherty had just returned to the UK after a failed rehab attempt in Arizona, and the previous night went to see The Bravery and The Paddingtons at Brixton Academy the night before the arrest.

"I hadn't even told my mum I was back from Arizona and then I got nicked," he continued. "I feel really bad for doing this to her. I'm pretty sure though that I'm going to get in trouble - and I really think I'm going to prison this time."

"I can't go back to prison. I can't - I don't think I could take it."

Cry me a river, Pete. Sheesh!

He's an idiot. Guy doesn't learn his lesson and even try to clean himself up.

Whatever he gets he deserves.

He had intelligence to begin with? I think you're confusing "heroin chic" with goodness.

So he should be.

And yet, somehow I'm pretty sure that this won't diminish his starpower at all in the UK

going to see the paddingtons will drive you to do crazy things.

this still doesn't take away from the brilliance that is Babyshambles.

Man, I had no idea this board would be so hardline "law & order" when it comes to drug arrests and addiction. Makes me a little nervous.

It's just that Pete has been stupid enough to be caught.

Don't you remember FT vs. Kevin Junior?

It's a scale. Pot & shrooms are aight. Heroin and crystal meth aren't so much. I'm not sure where coke falls on the board acceptance scale. I'm sure monty will have a 1000-word, nonsensical essay on the subject very shortly.

Ah, I see. And I guess perceived "stupidity" comes into play here as well. Good to know.

Nah, I think it's just that when a person repeatedly gets themselves arrested for the same shit over and over we aren't going to sit here and talk about what a fucking genius they are.

He's a fucking mess. Why should we or the media make him out to be anything less just because he put out a couple good albums?

Besides he's the stupid ass that keeps getting caught. If he were to have kept it casual and/or to himself then people wouldn't care so much. But he does asshole things like breaking into people's houses.

i'm all for the decriminalization of most of the stuff, (tax the hell out of it, make sure it's not on the road, etc...) but when you make yourself the walking fucking posterboy of british drug abuse, get arrested several times, get kicked out of your band because you refuse to quit, return form rehab saying you're never gonna stop doing drugs, get arrested a few more times, your supermodel girlfriend is filmed doing drugs in the studio with you and you keep doing drugs publicly?...guess what. YOU'RE GOING TO GET FUCKING ARRESTED AGAIN. It's too late for him to whine, he should've been watching his ass. It might now be fair, but if he didn't think that the cops would be licking their chops at the sight of him, than he's a complete fucking idiot. If he'd got caught and said "well, i'm an idiot", then i'd feel a bit more for him.

I think when you're obviously as addicted as Pete is, you don't really ratiion out the best way to score. I'm not sure that Pete's behavior is any different than any other junkie.

I guess I don't understand why everyone cares so much. If you don't like Pete or his music, then why the fuss over him getting arrested? There are lots of fuck ups out there who deserve your vitriol more than Pete Doherty--just look to the White House.

I haven't seen any posts tearing into Shane McGowan, who certainly has his own substance problems and run-ins with the law. Or Keith Richard? No? David Crosby? Hunter S. Thompson? Charles Bukowski?

And as for being stupid enough to get arrested, let's not forget what these subtsances do to a person's judgement and ability to reason. And the British police are notorious for cracking down on celebrity druggies (Mick and Keith anyone??).

So Pete smokes crack and gets arrested. So what? "Black Boy Lane" and "Kilamgiro" are still top songs.
