There's a show I'd like to go on on Thursday, but I know none of my friends will go with me. Considering they aren't really receptive to "my music", I should really get over the going alone thing.

I've done it a couple of times. The first time I kept checking my watch. I couldn't help it, it was something to do. I now realize had anyone actually been paying attention to me, it would have looked like I had been stood up, or something. I handled the second time much better.

I can go to a movie alone and I've even gone to a restaurant alone, but I just found my list of "upcoming shows" and realized I missed all of them because I had no one to go with. I'm just a gigantic pussy, aren't I? This must be remedied.

There's nothing wrong with going to a show by yourself.

Im going to see Dead Meadow on Thursday by my lonesome.

I think the sucky part is being alone in between bands... Caue when the music starts, I dont wanna be bugged. I wanna watch the show...

Apparently this makes you the opposite of a pretty penis.

I went to a lot of shows solo when I first moved to Chicago after college, but honestly I never liked it as much. But if you really want to go to the shows, just go.

And don't quote Eagles comeback songs in thread titles. If it was technologically feasible to ban that sort of behavior, God knows I would.

Yeah, and that was the worst part about that otherwise decent pop song.

I used to go to shows alone a lot in Boston, after many of my college music friends left (late 2000) but before I met the whole CMJ crew (early 2002).

Alright, so I'm just going to suck it up and start going. The more I do it, the easier it'll become and maybe I'll even *gasp* meet new people.

There you go.

Oftentimes I like the solitude of going to show, or seeing a movie, by myself.

i haven't been to a show alone in awhile, so it's a nice departure. i get there when i want and leave when i want. i can walk around a little. and i usually end up running into someone that's familiar.

i may see saviours tomorrow. and i'd be going alone. that could be a fun show.

Your a girl so you have the power...

I went to only one show sole and that was Built To Spill in San Francisco, it would of been OK if I didn't also go for the opening band I guess. I'm more mad at Ticketmaster prices these day so fuck it, I have seen enough bands to last two lifetimes.

I got to shows by myself on a frequent basis. Most of my friends that have the same taste as me live in different cities. I'll be damned if I am going to miss a good show just because I have to go solo.

i HATE going to shows alone.

but, there have been times when i have just sucked it up and gone. i COULDN'T miss the shows. (pavement, sdre, ani difranco, wilco, built to spill) and all of my local friends are NOWHERE as into music as i am.

i went. and i was fine.

but i stress out just 'thinking' of going alone.

i've been real lazy lately about doing this lately and have missed quite a bit. it sucks.

so, yeah. i think you should go. (but i don't practice what i preach.)

I´m not real sure you´re helping.

S- going to shows alone is perfectly respectable. I've done it on numerous occasions when I know no one else I know is going to dig that band. Go. It's not a big deal. But DON'T BRING A BOOK. Not to mention some cute white-belter might just see you sitting alone and scoop you right up and make you his little indie queen.

I used to go to shows alone but then there was the 'hairdresser incident' and my brain is too fucked up now.

If I didn't go alone, I'd rarely make it to shows.

most of my friends tease me for not liking the Black Eyed Peas, so go figure; i attend many a lonesome show.

sorry.
what i was trying to say (and obviously failed at saying) was
that going to shows alone is no big deal. once you're there...
you're fine!
