It is in my book, at least among the albums I have including Transformer, Berlin, Street Hassle, New York and others. Seems to me that Coney Island Baby has no filler and I can't think of another album for which that can be said. Plus, Kicks and the title track are two of the best tunes Lou ever wrote. And I think it has the best singing of his career.

Care to make a case for something else? Sally Can't Dance, perhaps?

I like Metal Machine Music. But then again, I'm weird that way.

Actually, my favourite non-MMM album with which he is associated, is prolly Songs for Drella.

Raven is good, too.

I always liked The Blue Mask, but, you can't go wrong with any of your choices.

Hard to say for me. It really depends on what kinda mood I'm in. I've got a big three with him that I tend to reach for more than any others with Coney Island Baby, Transformer and Berlin all being top notch in my book. Which one I grab depends on my mood. I'm also a big fan of his underrated debut solo record.

For some reason Blue Mask never did much for me. I actually prefer Legendary Hearts, which has a similar sound.

New Sensations has a couple of my favorite songs on a rather uneven album. The title track is fantastic and I have a big soft spot for My Friend George. Hell, I don't think he's put anything out anything I've heard without at least a couple outstanding tracks.
