I'm gonna see it regardless, but anyone heard anything preliminary on it? Apparently, it got a bad review on NPR today. I just watched an HBO First Look special on it, and I can't see how it will be bad.

My thoughts as well. I haven't heard particularly wonderful things about the second, but I'm fairly certain it will be fun and I'll enjoy it.

Don Cheadle was horrible in the first one. The worst attempt at being British in cinema history.

I haven't seen the first one, but...

I saw the trailer...this is the theater trailer, the long extended one.

And all they did was rattle off the list of names of who was going to be in it.

Worst. Preview. Evar.

I guess you had to have seen the first one for any of this to excite you.

in the movie, someone tells the character portrayed by Julia Roberts that she looks like Julia Roberts, and they use this as part of their heist plan. It is stupid, or genius.

That's pretty much the same boat I am in. I haven't disliked any Soderbergh movie I have seen, and that includes Schizopolis and Full Frontal. Prob my favorite director currently.

Yeah, seriously. It was so bad that it was distracting for me.

All of my friends said they were disappointed by it, but I finally went last night and enjoyed the h-e-double-hockey-sticks out of it. They complained about a thin plot, but I didn't see anything of the sort. In short, I was not disappointed at all.

Ughhh... Julia as Julia was horrible; ubiquity is not a clever plot device. Also, without spoilers, "That shit we just did for the last 30 minutes? None of it was really necessary cause it was all a ruse." Huh?

O12 was ok, but didn't feel like it had to be made. However, it was like a splash of heaven compared to watching Blade: Trinity.

Definitely the worst movie I saw this year... it's all Catherine Zeta-Jones, Julia Roberts (who is atrocious) and Brad Pitt. I almost forgot there were 11 other co-stars.

The story tries to be too smart... so smart that you can't follow along even if you wanted to. They have to use the flashback to tell you what happened... oh goody!

Certainly its more driven around the relationship between Zeta-Jones (who looked way hott btw) and Pitt, but Roberts? She was in the first 5 minutes and then in the last 30. I would hardly say the movie was all about her.

Like I said before, I'm a big Soderbergh fan, and he had his fingerprints all over this movie. No, it wasn't earth-shattering and it did resort to a few gimmicks, but I had very little to complain about otherwise.

i thought solaris was a great movie. not enjoyable to watch, but it wasn't supposed to be. the person i went with left in tears because she hated it so much. any movie that can get that sort of reaction out of people is going to make my A list.

<---Have talked favorably about both the original and remake on numerous occasions, going so far as to say they're two of my favorite movies, but am often disagreed with and sometimes outright mocked. Mockers never change my opinions on much of anything.
