Department of Eagles - 'The Cold Nose'

This came out (in this country at least) on the 5th of December and I have to say it's making a late, late bid to make my Top Twenty. I didn't really pay much attention to it for the first couple of listens but on the third it really clicked and since then my enthusiasm has just snowballed with every listen.

Probably the quickest way of describing them would be to say 'Kid A meets DJ Shadow' but in truth it takes a few tangents along the way, including a pretty good stab at UK hip hop for a couple of guys from New Jersey.

I don't have any links for you like that smartypants Dalen but I'm just putting the name out there and hoping someone takes an interest. These guys deserve it.

i think that this has been out here for a year or so. i was attracted to it by the Shadow comparrison but i don't think that it's warranted.

Odd. A little research seems to show it was previous released under the name 'Whitey On The Moon' with a completely different cover but the same tracklisting.

I think some of it does sound like DJ Shadow but it's more 'Private Press' Shadow than 'Endtroducing'.

It is the same... I think it was released in 2003.

The last great album of 2005 will be Jamie Foxx's debut!
