'nother vote for the Dolls. This poll reminds me of grade 8 and how all the prog heads thought the Dolls didn't qualify as real music. Excellent.

My faves from the year:

1. The NY Dolls s/t
2. Mott the Hoople Mott
3. Sensational Alex Harvey Band Next
4. Toots and the Maytals Funky Kingston
5. The Band Moondog Matinee
6. Ducks Deluxe s/t
7. T. Rex Tanx
8. The Faces Ooh La La
9. John Prine Sweet Revenge
10. Lynyrd Skynyrd Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd
11. Bruce Cockburn Nightvision

And I've only been listening to Roy Wood's Boulders for the last couple weeks (thanks again, Pop Todd), but without a doubt it's gonna qualify as a favorite eventually.

I count 6 votes for the Dolls. If it wins outright, I'll include it in the next phase of the poll. Obviously an oversight on my part.

A very difficult year, lots of "others" are in contention. School's Out and Billion Dollar Babies are both great albums that I loved back then. A little later I got into Hero & Heroine which remains a favorite. Both Roxy Music albums are excellent. Funky Kingston might be my favorite reggae album. I love Innervisions and Quadrophenia is my favorite Who album. Both Mott and Dixie Chicken are personal favorites that I came to later. It comes down to Selling England by the Pound and Dark Side of the Moon. Gotta go with DSOTM, because of the impact it had on me in my formative years.

Goat's Head Soup tanks the fook outta all but THE DOLLS. ( Another vote for Dolls being included in the main poll)

1. NY Dolls
2. Goat's Head Soup
3. Greetings from Asbury Park
4. Aladdin Sane (Watch That Man may be Bowie's best song.

Are you counting me as one of the seven? B/c id have voted for it if it was in the poll.

Still haven't voted in this one. Don't know what to do. I have many of these albums, but I can't choose the best.
