If they've heard of 311, remind them that a similar "claim" once surfaced about that band, with the alleged proof that K is the 11th letter of the alphabet, thus revealing the hidden message KKK, and with it 311's undeniable hatred for all things non-white.
But they probably haven't heard of 311.
In that case, tell them a book called Bellybutton Defense was once pulled from school library shelves on the premise that it was somehow sexual, when it was actuall a book about basketball.
