Dolorean. good stuff. Alt. country and what not...i guess.

Pedro the Lion is good too. However, the kid would have to be able to handle a Christian saying bad words. :)

Jeremy Enigk--you could get him Return of the Frog Queen. It's less than "rock'n'roll" though.

his world needs to be shaken up by the knowledge that christians have differing interpretations of god, the bible and christianity eventually, why not now?

Thats true. But if you want to give the little guy the opposite end you could get him the "Jerry Falwell sings the Blues" album.

If you want the more Christian slant on things from Pedro the Lion, get:
It's Hard to Find a Friend and Whole EP.

And, if he can handle it:
Sufjan Stevens - Seven Swans.

Who's that Jeremy Camp guy...I never heard any of it, but I saw an acoustic album or something that seemed somewhat intriguing.

I thought this one would be good too, even though it isn't "Christian."

there is some decent stuff there, but everything I have listend too so far sounds the same, and there is screaming and linkin park sounding music

Emery is the best so far. Ironically they just played here in Cincinnati last night!

like I said...it's not exactly rock. I didn't know that Enigk even had an active website anymore.

You sure it's his site?

EDIT: Since you want rock...you could just get any Sunny Day Real Estate album. It's not exactly Christian but Enigk was the lead singer and they broke up partly because he kept changing lyrics at shows to be overtly christian.

Starflyer 59 is Excellent. They thank Jesus on every album.
--Very diverse catalog. My favorite is "Everybody Makes Mistakes".

Ester Drang -- Infinite Keys is very good down tempo indie Jesus music.
I like this disc alot depending on my mood.

Of the two. Timmy, you would like SF59. They are up your alley.
