i'll be interested in who all the top1-3 albums of all the years are as i plan on returning to bmg for their 12-1 deal in january & stocking up on a bunch of these, including "the queen is dead" and "skylarking" (if i don't have that xtc album already).

At the end of the poll (in January) I'll be posting all the winners (along with significant seconds and thirds) for everyone to rank.

These four records are tremendous, the first two made my Listmania, "Big Heat" Got bumped by "Mosquitos", and that Godfathers record is by far their best.

You also omitted these:

Robyn Hitchcock: Element of Light (My vote as "other")
The Jazz Butcher: Bloody Nonsense (okay, it's a comp, but so is Kaleidoscope World), Distressed Gentlefolk
The Cynics: Blue Train Station
The Cleaners From Venus: Living With Victoria Grey
The Beat Farmers: Van Go
Guadalcanal Diary: Jamboree
Peter Murphy: Should The World Fail To Fall Apart

Hands down: The Colour of Spring, Talk Talk

Although that Peter Gabriel album is pretty darn tootin' good, and that The The album (Infected) is perfect from beginning to end.

And wow: Ministry, Metallica, Megadeth, whole bunch of good "hard" albums came out that year. Tough year for me, quite possibly my hardest.

Shriekback (although I like Oil + Gold better, Big Night Music is a sublime album)...New Model Army -- one of their most definitive albums...Laurie Anderson...gawd, what a great year that was...Duran Duran and Depeche didn't come out with anything that year? Nope, that was right between Misplaced Childhood (1985) and Clutching at Straws (1987).

Master of Puppets because the first time I popped this cassette in and listened, my view of music was forever changed. Licensed to Ill is second, even though I've probably given it more spins than any disc in history except Appetite for Destruction.

such a great record, probably my fav by them. I need to buy those first three L&R albums on CD. I've only got them on a mix of vinyl and cassette and my Seventh Dream cassette in particular has not aged well.

Anybody know if theyve been remastered or should I just search them out used?

They've been remastered several times, and I think the current versions are two-disk sets.

Yeah, I see that now...Lots of bonus tracks and whatnot. Cool.

I should sell of some of this completely pointless Bauhaus/Tones On Tale/Peter Murphy/Dalis Car and L&R vinyl that I have to fund this project....

No you shouldn't.

Well, maybe some of those stupid Tones on Tail singles -- man, they had some crap b-sides.

Dunno; me and a friend threw on that Dalis Car - The Waking Hour record a few months ago and I was shocked at how bad it was.....back in the day I lapped up everything I could get but some of it just hasnt aged too well for my sensibilities.... Most of it will stay, but there needs to be some weeding out. I was quite the fanboy.......Image
