I get the impression he's not really aiming at it mainstream, honestly. Earning a living, sure, but I never got the impression that he sees himself as "mainstream."

I also don't find him condescending. I have probably heard those 2 standup discs busty has live 5 or 6 times, and have laughed to the point of tears every single time.

That's all I'm looking for from a comedian.

Thats Ron White. I think there is some Tim Harris guy whos in that vein...what I hate about these fuckers is how they tend to fall back on some patriotic, anti rag-head nonsense for cheap applause.
