Oh shit, forgot that. May have to change my vote to other for some combination of Built To Spill and Soul Coughing.

This was one of the best years musically for me. I went with the blue album but I also love

Sunny Day Real Estate - Diary
Hole - Live through this
Nas - Illmatic
Meat Puppets - Too high to die

To me 94's was the last great year for releases in the 90's. I picked Defintely Maybe. I know alot of people hate it for various reasons, but I think it owns. 2nd choice would probably have been Doggystyle. That's a fucking party record.

I can't believe you buried Selected Ambient Works II -- that record was seminal.

I'm really surprised Bee Thousand didn't get a vote on this board.

I could've told you weeks ago that CRCR would win '94 hands down. I've never understood the love for that record, but since I've tried to underscore that point about 90 times here and on CMJ I won't do it again.

I'm going with one of my favorite fun albums.

Mighty Mighty Bosstones :: Question The Answers
Image

Loved it then, still love it now, loved it in college. It makes me fucking happy, which is what good music does.

Sentimental favorites:
Wally Pleasant :: Houses of the Holy Moly
Shane MacGowan :: The Snake
Therapy? :: Troublegum

All in all though, '94 seems kinda weak in retrospect. Seems like it's been at least 5 years since I've listened to any of the aforementioned albums. Maybe that's because 1994 was my "Phish" year.

The polls usually average 50-55 votes. 1991 had 70+ votes, which is currently the top of the heap. For some reason, 1965 and 1966 are really low in total votes...something like 35 or so each.
